Cameron McDearmon (senior) defends his 3A Indoor Track Shot Put Championship for his second consecutive state championship!

Also, Davin Jones (sophomore) finishes in 3rd place in the 3A Indoor Track 55 Meter Dash.

Carl Fleming Signs with the University of Pittsburgh

Congratulations Carl Fleming!

The Franklin Athletic Department would like to congratulate Carl Fleming and his family for his accomplishments.  Today, Carl signed his Letter of Intent to play football at the University of Pittsburgh.

One of the top prospects in the Baltimore/District of Columbia area…two-way standout who rushed for nearly 2,400 yards and picked off nine passes his final two years at Franklin Senior…played diverse roles on offense…in addition to being a workhorse at running back, also played receiver and quarterback…was a cornerback and safety on defense…rushed for 1,300 yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior …also collected 74 tackles and three interceptions …as a junior, rushed for 1,099 yards and 15 touchdowns, while compiling 50 tackles and six interceptions…two-way selection (running back and linebacker) on Baltimore County Coaches’ All-County Team…Baltimore Sun All-Metro…named the Old Spice Red Zone Player of the Year for the state of Maryland… SuperPrep All-Mid Atlantic Team…first player in Franklin history to sign with a Division I-A (Football Bowl Subdivision) school…played under Coach Anthony Burgos…selected to play in the Maryland Crab Bowl All-Star Game (Baltimore vs. D.C.).
